The substation is required to meet the growing demand for electricity from Perth’s rapidly growing northern suburbs and help Western Power provide quality, reliable power to existing and future residents, businesses and industry.
The Neerabup terminal substation is a major power transmission facility and an integral part of Western Power’s electricity network that will provide:
When completed, the substation will connect to Western Power’s electricity network through a new 330,000 volt (330 kV) transmission line. This line will pass through the pine plantation on the eastern side of the terminal substation site.
