Yongergnow Australian Malleefowl Centre

Yongergnow Australian Malleefowl Centre logoWestern Power is a proud sponsor of the Yongergnow Australian Malleefowl Centre.

Our sponsorship will provide funding for the construction of an undercover area to view malleefowl in the aviary, development of interpretive signage to assist in malleefowl education and revegetation of the immediate area around the Centre to improve habitat for local native fauna.

The Centre is located at the edge of Ongerup Townsite in the Gnowangerup Shire.  It is a community owned and run not-for-profit organisation that aims to educate visitors on the threatened malleefowl, the mallee environment and landcare work undertaken in the community, through interactive displays, activities and workshops.

This exciting new sponsorship is in conjunction with the proposed Southdown and Kojonup to Albany transmission line projects.

The sponsorship of the Yongergnow Australian Malleefowl Centre is a great example of Western Power working together with the local community to protect a threatened species for the benefit of current and future generations.
